Building Websites: A Journey of Passion, Purpose, and Praise

In the expanse of the digital realm, where creativity meets functionality, lies a realm of endless possibilities: website building. For many, it's merely a skill to acquire, a means to an end. But for others like myself, it's a passion, a canvas where I paint my ideas, dreams, and beliefs. Why do I make websites, you may ask? Simply put, because I find it fun. There's an exhilarating joy in piecing together lines of code, designing layouts, and watching a digital masterpiece come to life. But beyond the sheer enjoyment lies a deeper motivation – a purpose that drives every click of the mouse and every stroke of the keyboard. One of my most significant projects was the creation of a church planting website. Now, this wasn't just another project; it was a labor of love fueled by my deep investment in the family and the mission to spread the gospel. Building this website wasn't merely a task; it was a calling—a way to contribute to something greater than myself. But wh...

Building The Dung gate

Malchijah the son of Rechab, ruler of the district of Beth- haccherem, repaired the Dung Gate.  He rebuilt it and set its doors, its bolts, and its bars. (Nehemiah3:14 ESV)    In the story of Nehemiah, the third charter talks about people building walls of Jerusalem. I often skipped this portion as it seemed to be a bunch of names. But recently at my Church (Christ Church London) David Stroud spoke from this portion. Only  then had I realised that this portion I skip had a lot of interesting things to teach me. One of them is the story of how a Jewish leader named Malchijah had taken the responsible task of building the Dung wall. Now, we who live or have only lived in developed cities don't realise the blessing of the sewage system. I lived with my grandparents and few years ago in the village and mind you we did have a brilliant sewage system at our house but there was no plastic waste disposal and our backyard suffered very much. I think it was the R...

Meeting Us Here

Let our words be few that our hearts be exposed to you, Let your presence among us take presidency that your thoughts are then palpable, Let our whispers break forth into adoration that you remain pre-eminent in our worship, Let our assiduity in you fathom your love that your resplendence transcends our eyes. Then will your light emanate casting away shadows far from us, Transfigured we then would be, dressed in heavenly veil before the groom.

Auto tuned

Ever since the death of Robin Williams, I have been wrestling with myself, on the mystery of thoughts that cause self harm.  It was a few days later after his death I had come across this information which Robin calls " little quiet voice ". In the video below, is an interview in which Robin Williams talks about relapsing from addiction.   Video: Robin Williams on Relapsing: 'There's a Little Quiet Voice That Goes "Jump"' In the above video, Robin Williams says about the voice that tells alcoholics to take a tiny sip or a person suffering suicidal thoughts to end life.  The truth is that, I am no stranger to these thoughts.  When I knew about Robin Williams, I had posted this on Facebook and looking back at it, I wonder about the seriousness of the matter.  There are few challenges that comes to the mind of some of us when we learn about Robin Williams suicide, Robin was able to do what we didn't have the co...

Setting a standard

Date: 27-28/April, 2013 I have dated this post to remind myself for a longtime as long as I have this blog and the contents of this blog available that this is a day or these are the days I made this decision. The decision is simple, but it runs deep roots in my life as a person and more I realize this, the more I am moved by it. Here is the decision. I SET CHRIST AS LORD [THE ULTIMATE AUTHORITY] OVER ALL THAT I AM, ALL THAT I WILL BE, AND ALL THAT I REPRESENT. For those of you who may wonder the meaning of this message, read the below. For those who the whole idea of my faith in Jesus Christ seems rather absurd and deluded, please ask me about my life, I will tell you what a wretch I been. Context: I had gone through a cocktail of believes and faiths and some of my own creation and polytheism and universalism and inclusive and exclusive faiths and finally atheism,  with the help of objectivism. I heard the message of Christ once more evidently and clearly in 2009, and decided ...

Wisdoms

I was talking with my grandmother who is almost 4 times older than me, about agriculture and the paddy fields, when she asked me to visit the fields my grandfather and his ancestors once worked on. I of course objected it saying that there were more important things to do like watching TV and eating, but her persuasion finally won me over. The travel was short but it was worth it. I have never stood in muck so deep in my life and it was far exciting than i had orginally conceived in my head. Its by her faith that I learned more about Lord. It reminds me of Timothy I am calling up memories of your sincere  and  unqualified faith (the leaning of your entire personality on God in Christ in absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness), [a faith] that first lived permanently in [the heart of] your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice and now, I am [fully] persuaded, [dwells] in you also. 2Timothy 1: 5 Written By Your browser does not...

My Left and Right hand!

This is a continuation of the blog post I am writing " The joy of living ". The wonderful experience of having life. Really an odd topic and I would mention this heading on all the blogs that relate to this as "Joy of living" . So this is Joy of living - Part 2: My Left and Right hand! I have always found it a fantasy to write with my left hand. Some times I really wish I was a "lefty", doing all things with left hand instead of right. There was once an American president who was said that he could write documents with both hands. Either it was when photocopy machines were not invented or the president had a split personality that his left hand did not' know what his right hand wrote. I say this with audacity as I have tried this many times and have failed. This multiple thing is not in my wish list. I would have think many times which hand I signed a check last time so that the new checks would not be rejected. Have this happened to you? How...

Two weddings and a funeral

I am in the next few blogs going to write on the topic " The joy of living ". The wonderful experience of having life. Really an odd topic and I would mention this heading on all the blogs that relate to this as "Joy of living" . So this is Joy of living - Part 1: Two weddings and a funeral The title is similar to a holly-wood movie, but this is just a title and has nothing to do with the movie- honestly. OK, since you do not believe, let me give the very well known disclaimer - "All characters in this are original and do not in any manner represent any work of art or is intended to do so. If any similarity is seen, I declare it as mere coincidence." Happy? So let us begin. Let me ask you a question. Are you really happy today? Donot worry, the blog will make you cry. F or the rest of you who do not nitpick, welcome once again. There were two weddings and a funeral this week, and all of them reminded me that I should be glad for the life that I...

Good Friday is Great or What?

One of my friends recently asked me what is so great about the Good Friday. I was stumped and dumbstruck, but later i was able to tell this to him. Take a rope and tie around your hands. Then try to work. Try to do the things that you eve enjoy doing. You would find your self crippled to do the task. Like in the picture, we are stuck, hands tied, incapable of our own escape. Stuck in the rut. But imagine if on a day some one who you donot know comes and removes the ropes, and sets you free. Wont that day be good! Will you not celebrate this day? Yes you would, you would fill your self with everything you like. This is what was done 2000+ years ago on a day, take friday for instance, and won't you celebrate this day for ever if you were tied hands and legs and about to be drowned in a pool filled with crocks. This is good Friday people. A celebration, a great party, a time to think how good God is and how great is the life he gave to you and me. This is salvation and redemption...

Drifting and taking steps

Photographer Life is not always a smooth ride and i know that anyone above one years old would agree with me. you have the bruises on your knees at one year and the bruises on your heart when you are sixteen all because you moved so fast. You know what i mean... but then we stop to move at all! You are familiar of the saying curiosity killed the cat, i disagree, i say the hot water killed it, and the cat was stupid. Once we been hurt, like the saying, once bitten, twice shy, we kill our dreams and fail to move as if we have developed a great surface tension not to move at all. This , people is where we fail. We fail to succeed in life. We tend to go with the flow. This my loved ones is called Drifting For those who play NASCAR and know what a drift is, this is not the drift im talking about....those who don't know look at the tree floating in the picture. Some may call it relaxed life, some may differ. But over here i am with the latter. Drift wood only gets spoiled. ...

Time earned back

i had a good weekend, it was the best I've had since the cricket finals when i was with another friend of mine. This weekend was both retrospection, introspection and extrospection...a lot of inspection. i am here sitting at my computer again after vowing not to use my cell phone to go online again, yet online from a cell phone, thinking about the week. it was not as profitable as i wanted it to be. But in the end, i did learn a lot. it was good. You know like some times God can change an entire messy week holiday i spend goofing around, into a great one when he draws a line under the line like in a maths problem , you sum it up be zero and God adds another lets say "grace" marks and pushes you across the fence-- this is how i feel. i have passed a horrible test . I am now ready for more. I had spend some time with a wonderful family today and some guys and girls at a club. i felt my week had the real twist that i looked for till then happened there . Shame, i had bee...

Ice cold

I took up ice skating for the fun of it, and yes it does help me reduce my weight. i still look much like a fat penguin and cannot skate much except push my self along., but that is not the point here. The point is that my leg splits into two halves when i try to skate. This hurts as i try to move left and right on the synthetic ice. The point is that every action that we do may have an reason though not the same as we had planned, but still have some purpose in God's hands. I wonder if heaven is ice cold? I loved the entire thing as i fell and fell again. I didnot hurt my self, but i was able to overcome some inhibitions that i had, like what if people see me and make fun of me. after all, i am not 10 years old, i am a big fat guy who falls to the ice over and over. I think this is where Child like faith comes in, i saw today a kid not more than 8 years old, may be 7ish, fall once and later skate better than me, and it was also his second time on the ice. Child like faith is that ...

Northward

Finally, a week's leave from work. i have a lot to do and "the-hardly-anytime" complaint should be put to an end. i plan to reorganize my self and  my commitments. Man I've been looking for this since a long time. i may go to kerala soon, but i wanted to set some things right in chennai and i thought that this move is good. Thanks to my team manager who gave me the leave and time to go this. Dev, thanks if you are reading this. Besides i think "to ancient  of days " seems a pretty long lane for a small blog... no plans to change it as i need some consistency. Ive spend the first day in front of a computer most the time and happened to like Avril Lavigne's I'm with you song . Its a nice song expect that the person is ready to go out with the first person who shows kindness to her. i think this is also a good attitude, "respect those who care you" speaking about that i am planning to thank everyone in my life, including you, as you keep th...

Crushed Mint Leaves

I tried recently to make a drink sold in India by the KFC as "black mojito", and let me warn you, it has no rum, its just pepsi in virgin mojito. This experiment went rather a failure as i had no prior experience with mint leaves with the exception of finding them floating on biriyani. The thing i realized after i drank that was it not only tasted sour and had shredded leaves stuck on to my teeth that if i smiled i looked like a cow, i found out that i had upset my stomach s much that i could not eat the lunch after the "cooler". In the evening i was back at KFC and I watched the Chef de bar slowly crush the lemon rids and rings over ice, and slowly rub the mint leaves with the muddler to slowly bruise it and release those amazing oils. How strange and odd procedure, “bruise with care”.  Oxymoron: How can a bruise ever be a sign of care? Doesn't God see our future? Couldn't He have stopped me when I went that way? Why weren't angels there when I was ...

Saving Hands

A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. Ps 91:7 The above verse would be normal to you, but during my early views of Christianity, i thought the verse meant like in movies a sword would come and all people around you may fall or die and you would be kept alive just because we believe in God, but Lord showed it was not so. We as Christians undergo many trials and temptations daily, but the better fun is got when we see the hand of God, like how Moses was kept safe from the glow and power of Holy One, we too find this hand sometimes in our lives. You see, i have to walk for five minutes daily from bus stand to my office, and well in the middle of the path there is a bypass road, it connects Mount Road and GN Shetty road( for those who lived in Chennai), this small road is not bigger than 5m wide, any way i crossed the road, there was a lady ahead of me, and a man who was also walking with me, we all crossed the (small but busy roa...
NIV : JOB 19:25-29 25 I know that my Redeemer [a] lives, and that in the end he will stand upon the earth. [b] 26 And after my skin has been destroyed, yet [c] in [d] my flesh I will see God; 27 I myself will see him with my own eyes—I, and not another. How my heart yearns within me! 28 "If you say, 'How we will hound him, since the root of the trouble lies in him, [e] ' 29 you should fear the sword yourselves; for wrath will bring punishment by the sword, and then you will know that there is judgment. [f] " Now see the first two lines, they give me hope. I was given a shock of my life then. It was very sweet. The next verse was even sweeter and holy, sanctifying me. The next verse was dinner....Sorry it was the best line i cud use from a movie.. Music and Lyrics... The last two verses were words to correct... (the MORE) well now i use a Theophilos a sofware and NIV here for some help. now Job as you may know the story is gone down, all lost pretty much like if i say ...

boy hood:

And ever since in my life , Lord had been important and been feared much cause family wanted to make sure i don't fall or move away from Lord. I was taught in Sunday school , was participating in church activities. Lord had his hand to guide me and some how i found myself more complete in his love. But his was very vague. I was more church oriented. I was busy trying to be a world pleasures not realizing any importance of life and living. My childhood had few bad incidents but God lead me through it. Dad was very strict in fact i hated him then, he was caring but his care was more shown in anger and gifts. i on other hand wanted a father who would talk to me, teach me stuff and help me in stuff or some things. Mummy was there for me. in every thing she was a blessing for me. she helped me with my home work, supporting me with everything and helping me and caring for me. she taught me love and care, while dad from him i learned courage and that i should be respected and one very imp...

the first Chord:

unfortunately ( you can take this as a warning) my mum when she was pregnant with me ( not knowing she was carrying me) had taken some medicine for some fever, but it produced bad results, and when i was born i had 2 hands and 2 feet, just like you, and was perfect, but later into life about age 1 and 1/2 i was detected with some small trouble with kidneys which led to a major operation in which case i could even have died, there was from my grand mother's younger years a prayer group at my area, mainly marthomite and ecumenical, had got on their knees , my daddy ( as i came to know recently) had been crying bitterly to Lord for me, almost all in the area i live, ( even today) say " I AM GOT BY PRAYERS" and this is my first testimony, there was a certain achen ( priest) who was said to intercede for my life, and my God heard their cries and the cries of my family and started his touch on to me. This is my story, my song, the very first note of the life he wanted me to sin...
