Sermon | When God Shuts A Door

Hosea 2:14-16 Therefore I am now going to allure her;     I will lead her into the wilderness     and speak tenderly to her. There I will give her back her vineyards,     and will make the Valley of Achor a door of hope. There she will respond as in the days of her youth,     as in the day she came up out of Egypt. “In that day,” declares the Lord,     “you will call me ‘my husband’;     you will no longer call me ‘my master.’ New Audio Sermon How do we react when things do not go our way? How do we find peace when we face difficulties? Does God open a door when he shuts another? This week we shall see how God shuts a door and wants us to be there in the room with Him. This is a time of pruning and anointing. Fight the myth that when God closes a dooor he opens another. See the lives of Lo-Ammi (Not my people) and Lo-Rummani (Not loved) being changed. We are adopted in God's family. Pursue His love. ...

Of tribes and tounges

Note: This is a personal opinion only. -------------------- In the past many churches joined together and formed the nicene creed and since then Christianity showed some form of uniqueness and common understanding of what a Christian believe.  In short , a monotheistic religion that belives in a triune God , and Christ as the meditator between men and God because of the redemption of sins through the cross and the regeneration of life by the help of the Holy Spirit. But like all big families when they have sons that carry on the family name there are then multiple families.  Look at the instance the tribes of Jacob, 12 in all, are they all not Abraham ' s children?  Yes, yet amongst them they had so much difference.  Look at the tribe of Benjamin, they  are said to like a ravenous wolf [ Genesis 49:27 ] , quite seen in the life of King Saul, Queen Esther, Paul the apostle or the tribe of Judah,  where men like David and Solomon are. Now , in all this mann...

Zombie rabbit and other stories

One of the most heard of arguments against the resurrection of Jesus is that the people of ancient times were simple and they did not have the time on advantage of the modern day technology to determine if the risen Jesus was an illusion or real stuff. Recently reading through think theology's blog on the "<a href="http://thinktheology.co.uk/blog/article/extraordinary_claims_require_extraordinary_evidence">extraordinary evidence</a>" , I decided to write this blog. Sometime ago Micheal Ramsden an apologetic for Christian faith had used this example, and here it is. <blockquote>My friend had a dog and it was very mischievous. One morning it brought in the neighbours pet rabbit in his mouth. My friend was frightened and was helpless to this cruel act his dog had done. The dog had killed the neighbours' pet. So, my friend being a coward as he was took the rabbit out of the dog's mouth and washed the body and dried it, fluffed the hair wit...

Answered Prayer - Analysis of poem

I am not sure where I came across this poem, and then it did sound amazing, and so I learned it, memorized it, and took it into my heart. I think its most reffered as "answered prayer". So in a poetic manner I am quoting it, the author is unknown, however, Goodreads have quoted it to   Swami Vivekananda although his version is slightly different. I asked for strength and God gave me difficulties to make me strong. I asked for wisdom and God gave me problems to solve. I asked for prosperity and God gave me brawn and brains to work. I asked for courage and God gave me dangers to overcome. I asked for patience and God placed me in situations where I was forced to wait. I asked for love and God gave me troubled people to help. I asked for favors and God gave me opportunities. I asked for everything so I could enjoy life.  Instead, He gave me life so I could enjoy everything. I received nothing I wanted, I received everything I needed.  Now, I have a ...

The change in the desert

http://www.fotopedia.com/items/flickr-5079756828 Bible Passage 1: Hosea 2 : 14 a Today I would like to talk about the way God works from my life experience and also from the Bible. The context is rather spread out in the Bible and therefore we would look into multiple passages. It starts in one desert and ends in another garden. In the story of Hosea, we have Lo-Ammi (Not my people) and Lo-Rummani (Not loved) the children of the prostitute wife of Hosea being asked to talk to their mother. The situation in his house has come so worse that the children have to intervene in their mother’s life. But does this story have more to do with faith than just a broken marriage? I would share my thoughts about some key elements that stand out in this chapter and relate to my life and the Christian walk. The first thing that is done here is that there is a thirst given in the life of Israel to seek the Lord and this is where we understand that just because we are interested in Christi...

One Mighty Lover!

Seriously, who can separate us from the Love of Lord. Who can separate us from his love ? Nothing living or dead, angelic or demonic, today or tomorrow, high or low, thinkable or unthinkable-absolutely nothing can get between us and God's love. Romans 8:37-39 . If we look back to the book of Isaiah 59 we see that the God tells us that he was kind and forgiving but we were covered in sin that much that we were alienated. But this is where the entire history of human beings were altered, one day as a young Jewish woman heard this voice, she accepted the call, and Jesus was born in to the world, not that he could not being God himself have put his foot down hard on the Earth, or he could have appeared grown, but chose to in the helpless form of man, more , in the helpless form of a baby, later after 30 plus years, took the responsibility of his creation, the sin of man, upon himself and to death it self, that the glory that you feel forgiven be not yours of a thing that you hope that...

Insight to Jewish Customs - Mikveh

This post is not specific to any Church or community or organisation and so there opinion are my own based on independent study conducted. I was recently studying on Jewish Customs and marriages although i have no intention to marry a Jew at present or have any idea of conversion to Judaism. There is a lot of  similar ideas in Jesus return to Jewish marriages and this is going to be in the next post. So what is this post about? As i told earlier its slightly controversial. In Jewish marriages and community customs there are some regulations that should be followed by a non Jew in entering into Judaism.  One was the most obvious - circumcision. But there were other things of which one was this  ritual washing. This is mentioned a million times or so in the book of Leviticus. Now those who have read through the book you guys are really brave and I don't know how many coffees took you to get there. modern mikveh – schematic illustration : Wikipedia The...

Why are there so many different churches ?

From:  http://jonlotc.blogspot.com Have you not asked the question "Why are there so many different churches?" I could write about the creation of churches, and doctrinal opinions etc, but i want this to be understood by all and want to tell people what to look out for and what to look for. B asically most Churches are found on teaching of Jesus, and if you want to know about Jesus, check Wikipedia or walk into a church and ask or may be wait for my next post. Now, Jesus had done some major changes in the history of Jewish Religion and with the people there. And he had asked his disciples [means:students] (later known as apostles [means: ambassador])to spread his teachings and the good news of salvation (that means Jesus knows something to get you out of the rut of life). J esus taught principles of living (which does not include yoga) a life with a purpose and meaning, with a goal to achieve each day and a goal for life time. He had started some practices and end...

Christmas - BUT FOR WHOM

The Fest of Atonement ( Falls on 2009 on Sunset of September 27 through nightfall of September 28 ) The above link is the festival of Jews known as Yom Kippur, the fest of atonement, ie:Atonement in Judaism is the process of causing a transgression to be forgiven or pardoned. and repentance. Jesus is the lamb of God, for repentance, He was born in this period as he was the sacrificial lamb, the festival of Atonement, was a shadow to Jesus, not on 25th December. i will be adding to the noise about these, please confirm with me the facts i am saying 1. a human lady, when pregnant takes : 40 weeks, though a normal range is from 37 to 42 weeks to give birth, ie in months 9.months , approx 7 days 2. its 27deg Celsius to -3 degree Celsius in December in Israel, in nights it can fall upto 10 degrees or even lesser, 3. sheep may survive cold but not so much, but those days even for poor shepherds rain and snow, see yahoo weather, Israel. 4. lets assume one thing here, Mary , mother of Jesus,...
