One of the most heard of arguments against the resurrection of Jesus is that the people of ancient times were simple and they did not have the time on advantage of the modern day technology to determine if the risen Jesus was an illusion or real stuff. Recently reading through think theology's blog on the "<a href="http://thinktheology.co.uk/blog/article/extraordinary_claims_require_extraordinary_evidence">extraordinary evidence</a>" , I decided to write this blog. Sometime ago Micheal Ramsden an apologetic for Christian faith had used this example, and here it is.
<blockquote>My friend had a dog and it was very mischievous. One morning it brought in the neighbours pet rabbit in his mouth. My friend was frightened and was helpless to this cruel act his dog had done. The dog had killed the neighbours' pet. So, my friend being a coward as he was took the rabbit out of the dog's mouth and washed the body and dried it, fluffed the hair with a blow dryer and placed it in the neighbour's rabbit cage. A few hours later he heard his neighbour's wife shriek. He ran to her and saw her looking into the rabbit cage. My friend asked her "is the rabbit dead?" The woman who was still shaking said "It died two days ago and we buried it in the backyard and today it's sitting in the cage starring at me"

What we fail to realise is that dead people even in the past stayed dead. And yes, even in the first century AD it did sound pretty stupid if someone said "Jesus died and rose again". There are some who claim that Jesus didn't die but was sleeping because of the pain, I would easily refute this because 1) the people were simple : they knew if they beat up someone hard enough and long enough and then crucify them and then stab them, they would die. 2) they didn't have the technological advancements of today like blood transfusion and advance surgery and so if a person was this badly damaged is less likely to live let alone walk seven miles less than a week later.
