I will stand to fight

This is dedicated to all who are in the household of people in ministry, especially each and every pastor's wife and my own wife. I am writing this on a day i am forced to lie down as I have hurt my knees. And this incident was not isolated, it has been the a terrible time of being hurt physically. A tumour on the leg, a tear of the feet tendon, now a knee swelling. This was a fruitful time for the ministry as I been mentoring and helping people and this has been affecting even my poor wife who fears that these attacks (even spiritual) may only increase. So I want to encourage her and let her know that the reason I wake and get out of the bed has these reasons. I love her dearly and find her the best and precious and I want her to be encouraged through this.

I will stand to fight ('Till the last banner is down)

Subin Mathew

I will stand to fight

I will stand my ground and fight

This is not the end

The last one was not, nor is this

'Till the last banner is down

The enemy has not won - Therefore I stand to fight

I will stand to fight

I will stand my ground to fight

This is not my battle

But my King's to whom I pledge

For His blessed name

I will stand to fight

I will stand to fight

I will stand my ground to fight

His Cross, His Blood, His Glory

Forever be my drink

His banner flies high, even though I fall

Therefore I will stand to fight

I will stand to fight

I will stand my ground to fight

My dear bride, you are highly priced

Your joy, it keeps me sane, It's my delight

Yet not for you I fight - It's for my King

Indeed for my King - I fight this blessed fight

I will stand to fight

I will stand my ground to fight

Even when this body fails

With mine eyes I see my King

For I know and see that my redeemer lives

So will you, my dear, with your eyes see - so we fight

I will stand to fight

I will stand my ground to fight

This battle ground, though it seems hard to stand

The enemy, he seems to crush our heart

Yet will I, on my broken knees

Stand and sing His praise in fight

I will stand to fight

I will stand my ground to fight

I fail, I fail, I fail

Seven more times will I

Yet my dear, I will rise - be of hope

On this battle ground, I will rise and fight

I will stand to fight

I will stand my ground to fight

Our offspring will see this fight

They will love us for this fight

A way carved, a path paved, strength sowed

Their steps ordained, hope planted because of our fight

I will stand to fight

I will stand my ground to fight

I wake daily in this tent to fight

My joy, my breath, my cause and delight

To honour the King, in whom I boast

I will arise and stand to fight

I will stand to fight

I will stand my ground to fight

No power of death, nor curse of earth

No force of darkness, no fiend nor man

Can erase this blessed hope and my cause

To love my King, so I fight

I will stand to fight

I will stand my ground to fight

My breath may fail, my eyes may dim

My joints may ache, my heart may strain,

My sorrows may rise, my anguish may whelm over me

Still in Him I find my hope- my heart now arise - we fight

I will stand to fight

I will stand my ground to fight

I will then one day fight the last

And with one blow I will crush my foe

The shame, the guilt and the sin will halt

And then that day, I will close my eyes - rest from this long blessed fight

I will stand to fall

I will stand on His ground to fall

To fall and kiss at His feat for aeons

That day I at his table recline

And gaze upon the banner that flies

That gave me hope, reason and joy in all my fight

I will stand to fight - this blessed fight

I will therefore stand my ground to fight

For you my dear, for me and all we are

For the cause my dear, for the lost and the yet to come my dear

This fight we face will bear fruit, yes, 10s, 100s and 1000s dear

Yet before the sun shall set, we stand together and fight this blessed fight.

The Nativity - by Gari Melchers

This could be my first ever critique of art that I have ever written and that is because it is only recently art has captured my interest as much as this work. This write up is made both in English and German as I want to practice my German.  'The Nativity' by Gari Melchers.  I am not an art expert and my critique is from a layman's point of view, but bear with me. I have tried reading some information about the art and the culture behind it and I have my two favourite blog posts about the same work and yes,  I have shamelessly copied some of their thoughts. Woebegone but Hopeful and other is by Lisa VO . Julius Garibaldi Melchers (August 11, 1860 – November 30, 1932) was an American artist. He was one of the leading American proponents of naturalism. He won a 1932 Gold medal from the American Academy of Arts and Letters.[1] - Wikipedia The Nativity is painted during the peak of realism movement - in a gritty and less idealised manner . For m

2 Kings 5 | Part 2 | Naaman and the Offense of the cross

This section of the story in 2 Kings chapter 5 focuses on Naaman. We know that Naaman was the commander in chief of the armies of Syria and possibly the right hand man as he was incharge of strategic, political and warfare and security. This was a very prestigious role that Naaman had earned. Some Jewish Rabbis say that his ruthlessness and his power resulted in God punishing Naaman with Tzaraat which is translated as Leprosy. For the sake of these notes, I would consider the word Leprosy.  Naaman was powerful and wise. In fact, it was God who had blessed him from the start. The verse says that Naaman was a powerful and influential man valued by the king greatly. His victory was a gift from God to Aram. Why would God bless a foreign nation to attack the Israelites? In Deuteronomy chapter 28, Moses tells the people that God would make the enemies of Israel punish the people of God if they are disobedient. Jehoram, the then king of Israel was the son of Ahab. Ahab and his wife Jezebel le

Studies Through 1st Peter | 1 Peter 1: 1 | About Peter

Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who are elect exiles of the Dispersion in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, 2 according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in the sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience to Jesus Christ and for sprinkling with his blood: Preface: Why are we looking through this book? Unlike the letter of James, this book is written to a Jewish / Gentile Christians who are scattered across various provinces that are outside their ideal world. In the last two weeks we have been looking at what it means to live as people who love God. Today and the weeks to follow, we will look at how this is meant to be worked out as people living among other nations. Written by Silvanus (he is the typist) - probably Silas along with Mark From "babylon" .. well babylon did not exist in that time as an important place. It was a code, a code for what Babylon stood for. Enmity to God - Where was the enemy? in Rome - Who was the enemy -  Introduc
