Shall we not pray for the Holy Spirit to be part of our lives daily?

I was listening to Acts29 on Instagram looking upon dead guys like Justin Martyr and Tertullian , and reading about the mighty work of evangelism and life of believer. The Instagram post was a video telling people to spend more time in the Bible. I remembered that faith comes by hearing and hearing the word of God. So I sat down and read aloud Acts 1 to Acts 4. Such an amazing portion and I believe that God wants us to be encouraged through this. In these four chapters over 12 times the Spirit of God was mentioned.

  1. Acts 1:2 Being witness (promised) - Acts 2:41 Acts 4:4 (promise fulfilled)
  2. Acts 1:5 Given prophetical knowledge of Jesus
  3. Acts 1:8 Filled with power (1 Corinthians 2:4)
  4. Acts 1:16, Acts 2:14, Acts 2:25 Given revelation into the Bible -- Acts 4:13, Acts 4:25 Implied
  5. Acts 2:2-3 Filled with Holy Spirit
  6. Acts 2:4, Acts 2:17 Given utterance by the Spirit
  7. Acts 2:33 Proof that Jesus did and say that were true - or that Jesus is indeed the messiah
  8. Acts 2:14 Implied Boldness to lead
  9. Acts 2:37 Implied: Forgiveness for sins
  10. Acts 2:39 Guarantee of your purchase and salvation (please read Ephesians 1:3)
  11. Acts 2:46, Acts 4:32 Belonging as one : (1 Peter 2:4-7)
  12. Acts 3:6 Implied Boldness to heal (Peter who ran away from the temple girl comes back to the temple and begins to heal with the authority of Jesus. Peter healed with the power of the Holy Spirit - see Acts 2:13-16)
  13. Acts 4: 8, Acts 4:31 Boldness to speak
  14. Acts 4:31 Demonstration of Power of God

Amazing right, just the first 4 chapters and its like you cannot walk a step without the Holy Spirit being mentioned.

Brothers, shall we not thirst more for the Spirit and His work in our lives?

How can we live a Christian life without the direct evidential involvement of the Holy Spirit?

Are you seeking to be filled and moved and be in constant companionship of the Holy Spirit?

Have a blessed Pentecost Sunday 2021.

The Nativity - by Gari Melchers

This could be my first ever critique of art that I have ever written and that is because it is only recently art has captured my interest as much as this work. This write up is made both in English and German as I want to practice my German.  'The Nativity' by Gari Melchers.  I am not an art expert and my critique is from a layman's point of view, but bear with me. I have tried reading some information about the art and the culture behind it and I have my two favourite blog posts about the same work and yes,  I have shamelessly copied some of their thoughts. Woebegone but Hopeful and other is by Lisa VO . Julius Garibaldi Melchers (August 11, 1860 – November 30, 1932) was an American artist. He was one of the leading American proponents of naturalism. He won a 1932 Gold medal from the American Academy of Arts and Letters.[1] - Wikipedia The Nativity is painted during the peak of realism movement - in a gritty and less idealised ma...

Testimonies

This is an extract from a mail I had written to my friends and I wish that most of you my readers would get this message too. I want to tell you about a few testimonies that changed my perception of testimonies. Most of you may have heard me say this many times, but then since its that good, I wish your Christmas memories could include this one too.  The first story occurs in a little village of pullad. Now that is in Kerala, and for those who do not know where it is, the place is near kumbanad, and around 15 Kms from Chengannur/ Thiruvalla and some where in the mid point between ernakulam and trivandrum .  SEE IT ON MAP I HAD WRITTEN THE STORY IN A BETTER FORMAT OVER AN YEAR AGO. SEE TOTALLY SIMPLE FAITH.  It is a village more than a town , with rubber trees, bugs and the sweet sound of rain in the woody and leafy region, so it cooler and humid than most other parts of kerala. So, i was here, in a prayer meeting run by a pentecostal group called the hallelujah pra...

[The following explains trinity : please read if you are interested : else skip below by clicking => SKIP <=] in christianity we believe in a monotheist belief like Judaism and Islam, but worship the God of Judaism not Islam. the turn down for many people is the added effect of deity issues that come with christians saying they believe in Father, Son, and Holy Spirit and blow away the concept of monotheism. so what does the christian believe ? well, we believe God,...
