I have esteemed and treasured the words of His mouth more than my necessary food

I have esteemed and treasured the words of His mouth more than my necessary food. - Job 23:12

As David sat on his throne, he often thought about the God who he had known and who was responsible for holding David up through all the troubles he had with Saul and other enemies. He  said that he desired to be in the house of Adonai  [ Lord ] than else where, but this had a reason. The factors that made this reasons are many, but the reason is this. David had a heart for God. A longing, a passionate desire to love and serve the God of Israel.

But the one who said the verse  " I have esteemed and treasured the words of His mouth more than my necessary food " did not have a background story that we know of like that of David's. All Job was a well off man, in the region of Mesopotamia, Ur or possibly in the modern Middle East regions of Iran, Iraq, or Israel. It would have been really cool, if Job had said this verse, at any other time, but the time Job said this was when he had lost everything. He had a huge financial loss, had got all his children killed in natural calamities and was also in physical ailments.

Fact: Job was sad
Fact: Job was crying
Plausible: Job was fasting as it is written that he was not happy to eat

But in this circumstances we see Job declaring that he treasures the words of God, who he knew. Now, in this blog, i do not want to talk about suffering, or the story of Job, or how we must cling on to God when we are broken. but i want to tell that for who God is, it is great that if we could earnestly, passionately seek him.

Hunger for the words from his mouth! For crying out loud, we are the products of his hands and the world we live in is a product of his words. We know what it means to be hungry. I got to say that we need to be hunger for his words. hunger so that we may be fed.

I cannot be Not Amazed by the fact that a God seeker, hungers like a lion to get a morsel from God.

May His Spirit make me and you really Hungry!

Be Hungry!

The Nativity - by Gari Melchers

This could be my first ever critique of art that I have ever written and that is because it is only recently art has captured my interest as much as this work. This write up is made both in English and German as I want to practice my German.  'The Nativity' by Gari Melchers.  I am not an art expert and my critique is from a layman's point of view, but bear with me. I have tried reading some information about the art and the culture behind it and I have my two favourite blog posts about the same work and yes,  I have shamelessly copied some of their thoughts. Woebegone but Hopeful and other is by Lisa VO . Julius Garibaldi Melchers (August 11, 1860 – November 30, 1932) was an American artist. He was one of the leading American proponents of naturalism.
