Being in Essex (in South East England), which is something new for me is very exciting as it is a whole world apart when compared to the monotonous and really busy life of a Londoner. But I am here at Mile End 4 days a week, and have the urge to meet new people and be a witness for Christ everywhere I am. Its been four months since I am in UK and from the very first week of university, I have been involved with a group of friendly Christians who have not only been supportive but also really nice people.
In fact, I am the only Indian among the MSc program and although there are a few Christians in my course, I have not been able to talk about my love for Jesus to them. Now, this is compensated by the Queen Mary Christian Union and the lively bunch of programs we had so far. There was the Christmas carols and lovely talks on Creation, Relationship with Jesus, and a lot of wonderful study groups. Now, recently we had met for a project called
uncover.
So what was/ is uncover?
The Christian Union over the last year had done some nice surveys on what would people ask God? or how would they react to seeing Jesus here today? and what is your favourite film? The top choices in London were
* Lord of the Rings (Triology)
* The Shawshank Redemption
* Inception
Now what the UCCF had done was bring into light these films and help to strike a very good conversational topic that got a lot of students in London talking about it and we had a great speaker. Krish, as they call him, was splendid, he gave such wonderful analogies and made some topics very brilliantly crystal clear. the next post is on Karma with a great analogy by Krish
