a future to think about

looking4poetry
When Jacob was leaving from his uncle Laban, and yet to meet his brother Easu Bible, he grew worried. He was a very rich man, and most of it was Laban's but he did work hard and earn it, but all this he knew was not possible, if not for the blessing of God. Now, for those who know the story, Jacob took Easu's blessing and now as he was there on the verge of meeting his brother after long and tiresome 21 years or more, he feared the meeting.

This is how most of us sometimes view our tomorrows, not the next day,( only and only if you suddenly knew there was an important test that you did not study), but days when we face uncertainty and say things that are like, "its my fate" or "so be it" or if you were more Christian, you might say "God, i did not study the history lesson, but i know you have my best interest, so let your will be done" .... and yes, you can be sure that God is rolling on the floor of heaven laughing at that request. But sometimes, we would have read all the flip cards a million time, and practised the speech another million times in front of our mirrors, dogs and cats and parrots, and yet feel shaken within.

This is the future i am talking about, like the one that you hope at the beginning of the new year would turn out well, and like at the last day of the year you say lets hope the next one is bigger. In the same manner was Jacob, there waiting and wondering if his journey ahead would bring him any comfort. In a dream, Jacob heard God,and God said him to move forth. Jacob woke up, and then called his wives and kids and all the other staff or in those times slaves and said that he had decided to go to Bethel and that the God he believed was more powerful than what was to happen there. He told them to prepare their hearts and bodies, and refresh themselves as they were to embark on a newer journey.

This is what I have for you also, my dear friend. I have messed up a lot last year, and so would you have been, and its absolutely fine in our Lord's sight, cause he is now inviting us to come forth and take the bold step of moving into his absolute presence and his guidance. This is what he wants fro you, not your money, not your time, not your desires, but that you trust his judgement of your life. It may be really difficult to move up that road into the new place, the new job, the new period in time, but this is where the buck stops, this is where you look up. God is now waiting for you to make a move.

Are you ready to trust your immediate and long term future to him ?

Let me assure you, that the road would still be bumpy and tough at times, but you could be assured that you would not be left alone, for he is Immanuel, meaning God is with you, sitting next to you, encouraging you to trust him, and waiting, very patiently that you take this time, and decide your future. Happy New Year from me and my family, to all of you who have just found this post, or having followed this blog from some day, to all my friends and family in India, all my readers in many countries. May God Bless all of you.

The new year I plan to work harder to understanding God's revival in lives and nations.

The Nativity - by Gari Melchers

This could be my first ever critique of art that I have ever written and that is because it is only recently art has captured my interest as much as this work. This write up is made both in English and German as I want to practice my German.  'The Nativity' by Gari Melchers.  I am not an art expert and my critique is from a layman's point of view, but bear with me. I have tried reading some information about the art and the culture behind it and I have my two favourite blog posts about the same work and yes,  I have shamelessly copied some of their thoughts. Woebegone but Hopeful and other is by Lisa VO . Julius Garibaldi Melchers (August 11, 1860 – November 30, 1932) was an American artist. He was one of the leading American proponents of naturalism. He won a 1932 Gold medal from the American Academy of Arts and Letters.[1] - Wikipedia The Nativity is painted during the peak of realism movement - in a gritty and less idealised manner . For m

2 Kings 5 | Part 2 | Naaman and the Offense of the cross

This section of the story in 2 Kings chapter 5 focuses on Naaman. We know that Naaman was the commander in chief of the armies of Syria and possibly the right hand man as he was incharge of strategic, political and warfare and security. This was a very prestigious role that Naaman had earned. Some Jewish Rabbis say that his ruthlessness and his power resulted in God punishing Naaman with Tzaraat which is translated as Leprosy. For the sake of these notes, I would consider the word Leprosy.  Naaman was powerful and wise. In fact, it was God who had blessed him from the start. The verse says that Naaman was a powerful and influential man valued by the king greatly. His victory was a gift from God to Aram. Why would God bless a foreign nation to attack the Israelites? In Deuteronomy chapter 28, Moses tells the people that God would make the enemies of Israel punish the people of God if they are disobedient. Jehoram, the then king of Israel was the son of Ahab. Ahab and his wife Jezebel le

Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who are elect exiles of the Dispersion in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, 2 according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in the sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience to Jesus Christ and for sprinkling with his blood: Preface: Why are we looking through this book? Unlike the letter of James, this book is written to a Jewish / Gentile Christians who are scattered across various provinces that are outside their ideal world. In the last two weeks we have been looking at what it means to live as people who love God. Today and the weeks to follow, we will look at how this is meant to be worked out as people living among other nations.
