Giving Thanks ....

Back when I used to work at the call centre in India, (yes, we are the worlds  - 0800, 1800, 800, etc) we were advised to end every call with this mandatory statement " thank you for calling XYZ, this is Subin, I hope I had been able to assist you with the enquiry today, Have a nice day". To be truthful we found us repeating this statement so blatantly  and other times it was parrot-talk. Life really gets monotonous at a call centre especially at first enquiry points. But it was worth one year, I can now stay in a same room with my parrot.

We are so used as people helping us and we helping them that a "sorry" or a 'thank you" is spoken without any care. I remember the time when my little brother gave me a chocolate and I thanked him even without looking at him. I was so caught in the moment that I did not care for the kid who had got me a chocolate out of his own pocket money. Man ... what a shameful act right ! This is also what happened in Jesus's time. There were ten lepers and Jesus healed them all. All left the place cured and never returned except one who came back to thank Jesus. Jesus asks this guy, weren't there ten of you ???

So in this post I would like to thank some people who are running organisations and I have been helped by them either as a friend or have been supported by their organisation.

People Involved: Ron Baltzer, Edita Baltzer, Suresh Jacob
What is it : Well unlike me most of the people in India are taught in India, and have very less exposure to communicating in English. Ron has this vision with Kyritek Skills and Careers to to teach students in Chennai Spoken English.
Why Thank them: Well most of the training is done by Ron, who is an American, and he and his wife have been dedicated to reduce the price of training to a very affordable level for anyone in low income category.
So about Me: Ron and Suresh have been my friends and Suresh is also my mentor. These guys really took time to help me decide my future. And Edita, she is an angel. Seriously, this woman has been through all sorts of discrimination and so was able to help me face similar things in life.
Find them : As a part off thanking them, I am promoting their website with the man in the jar banner. Refer your friends if they need help or give them a ring and they will be happy. By the way English is only a small part, they even train on cooperate skills.

Global Knowledge Cooperation ( GKC*) :

People Involved : Subash Paul
Intro: Now if you wanted to go to study in UK, USA, Australia, Canada, Singapore etc what people would do is meet up with an Educational agency in India and tell their requirements and this agency would give some ideas and advise and tell you to choose this University or not choose that University etc. I had been in touch with at least 2 such agencies before I met Subash. I met him at Para Church, Thiruvalla. Now this guy is a hard core Christian. I told him that I had already got my admissions and was ready to go. Normally most agents would then divert the topic, but he listened to all I had to say about the University and encouraged me to go there. He even gave GKC's agencies in UK's contact number if in-case i did not find suitable accommodation. This guy had been in UK and knew where to work and how to stay safe etc. And like a friend he remained honest to the core. This is what lacked in most agents. So, if anyone in India is applying for a visa to study in UK, GKC is the place, not because they will call you now and then, but cause the management and working team has really strong values and as in my case would stand with you what ever happens.
Find them: GKC is also advertised on my blog. (sorry pacman game ... i have to delete you ).

The Nativity - by Gari Melchers

This could be my first ever critique of art that I have ever written and that is because it is only recently art has captured my interest as much as this work. This write up is made both in English and German as I want to practice my German.  'The Nativity' by Gari Melchers.  I am not an art expert and my critique is from a layman's point of view, but bear with me. I have tried reading some information about the art and the culture behind it and I have my two favourite blog posts about the same work and yes,  I have shamelessly copied some of their thoughts. Woebegone but Hopeful and other is by Lisa VO . Julius Garibaldi Melchers (August 11, 1860 – November 30, 1932) was an American artist. He was one of the leading American proponents of naturalism. He won a 1932 Gold medal from the American Academy of Arts and Letters.[1] - Wikipedia The Nativity is painted during the peak of realism movement - in a gritty and less idealised manner . For m

2 Kings 5 | Part 2 | Naaman and the Offense of the cross

This section of the story in 2 Kings chapter 5 focuses on Naaman. We know that Naaman was the commander in chief of the armies of Syria and possibly the right hand man as he was incharge of strategic, political and warfare and security. This was a very prestigious role that Naaman had earned. Some Jewish Rabbis say that his ruthlessness and his power resulted in God punishing Naaman with Tzaraat which is translated as Leprosy. For the sake of these notes, I would consider the word Leprosy.  Naaman was powerful and wise. In fact, it was God who had blessed him from the start. The verse says that Naaman was a powerful and influential man valued by the king greatly. His victory was a gift from God to Aram. Why would God bless a foreign nation to attack the Israelites? In Deuteronomy chapter 28, Moses tells the people that God would make the enemies of Israel punish the people of God if they are disobedient. Jehoram, the then king of Israel was the son of Ahab. Ahab and his wife Jezebel le

Studies Through 1st Peter | 1 Peter 1: 1 | About Peter

Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who are elect exiles of the Dispersion in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, 2 according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in the sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience to Jesus Christ and for sprinkling with his blood: Preface: Why are we looking through this book? Unlike the letter of James, this book is written to a Jewish / Gentile Christians who are scattered across various provinces that are outside their ideal world. In the last two weeks we have been looking at what it means to live as people who love God. Today and the weeks to follow, we will look at how this is meant to be worked out as people living among other nations. Written by Silvanus (he is the typist) - probably Silas along with Mark From "babylon" .. well babylon did not exist in that time as an important place. It was a code, a code for what Babylon stood for. Enmity to God - Where was the enemy? in Rome - Who was the enemy -  Introduc
