Memories

I was going through some pics that were taken around 20 years ago.  Some were really ridiculous and funny  Some  reminded of times forgotten and wanted, others gave hope. Memories are a wonderful thing. They remind us where we came from, like our troubles of the past and what became of us. Don't all of us have such wonderful memories. I am a guy, but there are times I've looked at pictures and cried. There were some pictures that remind me of things i failed to accomplish and there were pictures that I've been appreciated for my accomplishments.

Jason Upton is an American lyricist and singer. In his song "Reason" or "Give me one reason" , he sings "Abraham and Jacob never doubted God when they walked alone, but we who have more reasons to believe in God, doubt him". As far as Abraham and the nomads of his time were concerned stars were the only guide where as we have GPS and GNSS and what not. Yet we fail to find reasons that are simple enough to believe in God. There are scientific talks every where on how great the universe is and how it stretches beyond infinity. But the truth is like in Psalms 19
The heavens declare the glory of God,
       and the skies announce what his hands have made.
  Day after day they tell the story;
       night after night they tell it again.
  They have no speech or words;
       they have no voice to be heard.
  But their message goes out through all the world;
       their words go everywhere on earth.
    The sky is like a home for the sun.
  The sun comes out like a bridegroom from his bedroom.
       It rejoices like an athlete eager to run a race.
  The sun rises at one end of the sky
       and follows its path to the other end.
       Nothing hides from its heat.
Rob Bell tells in a series called "Indescribable" that the world and all its stars and everything else that could be accounted for could never fathom the love God has for us. It makes a huge impact, because even though I may love someone it would never measure more than the distances of stars. That is a reality.

Be honest to your self and think, "even though poets and singers sing that the love is wide and deep and what not, could you ever love anyone more than yourself ?" or  "Even if you manage to could you tell that your love for that person is go much greater than the stars or the light in the star, or as great that you could every hair that falls from their head??"

But God does. He clearly says, "I would give it away for you" and the best part, when Jesus came down, and lived and died he "really" give close his eyes to all the richness and glory and everything else in the world just for me and you. And for him it was that what mattered.

"You" are beautiful. "You" are marvelous, "You" are beyond anything that matter to God. And for him, its only "You" and not the baggage you carry. It not your achievement, not your failures, not your credentials nor your credibility. Its SIMPLY YOU.

Time magazine is famous for "Person of the year" and in 2006 the person of the year was "you" meaning the online community. But this is so less to how God see you. For him "you" are the best thing in his life and he is so concerned about your well being and it hurts him if you worry the bit. My dad has always pampered my sister, and till she was 10 or 12, he agreed to whatever she asked for. It would hurt him if she kept he want away from him. Like wise God is your father, he said, " if a father knows how to give good stuff to his kids, Won't I?" - "Just ask me and i will open the flood gates of heaven and pour out riches in abundance".

Recently  i read a comment on Facebook. "Our life is actually plotted down and we just have to join the dots. But we only see the dots once we passed them and find by the Grace of God have joined them." God bless you.

The Nativity - by Gari Melchers

This could be my first ever critique of art that I have ever written and that is because it is only recently art has captured my interest as much as this work. This write up is made both in English and German as I want to practice my German.  'The Nativity' by Gari Melchers.  I am not an art expert and my critique is from a layman's point of view, but bear with me. I have tried reading some information about the art and the culture behind it and I have my two favourite blog posts about the same work and yes,  I have shamelessly copied some of their thoughts. Woebegone but Hopeful and other is by Lisa VO . Julius Garibaldi Melchers (August 11, 1860 – November 30, 1932) was an American artist. He was one of the leading American proponents of naturalism. He won a 1932 Gold medal from the American Academy of Arts and Letters.[1] - Wikipedia The Nativity is painted during the peak of realism movement - in a gritty and less idealised manner . For m

2 Kings 5 | Part 2 | Naaman and the Offense of the cross

This section of the story in 2 Kings chapter 5 focuses on Naaman. We know that Naaman was the commander in chief of the armies of Syria and possibly the right hand man as he was incharge of strategic, political and warfare and security. This was a very prestigious role that Naaman had earned. Some Jewish Rabbis say that his ruthlessness and his power resulted in God punishing Naaman with Tzaraat which is translated as Leprosy. For the sake of these notes, I would consider the word Leprosy.  Naaman was powerful and wise. In fact, it was God who had blessed him from the start. The verse says that Naaman was a powerful and influential man valued by the king greatly. His victory was a gift from God to Aram. Why would God bless a foreign nation to attack the Israelites? In Deuteronomy chapter 28, Moses tells the people that God would make the enemies of Israel punish the people of God if they are disobedient. Jehoram, the then king of Israel was the son of Ahab. Ahab and his wife Jezebel le

Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who are elect exiles of the Dispersion in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, 2 according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in the sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience to Jesus Christ and for sprinkling with his blood: Preface: Why are we looking through this book? Unlike the letter of James, this book is written to a Jewish / Gentile Christians who are scattered across various provinces that are outside their ideal world. In the last two weeks we have been looking at what it means to live as people who love God. Today and the weeks to follow, we will look at how this is meant to be worked out as people living among other nations. It was a code, a code for what Babylon stood for. Enmity to God - Where was the enemy? in Rome - Who was the enemy -  Introduc
